How to Generate Lots of Content and Keep it Interesting

When you’re trying to get a lot of traffic through to your website, either because you have something to sell or because you simply want to raise the profile of your blog, generating plenty of content both on your site and linking to it from other sites and directories is critical.  The more articles you have out there, the more keywords you can optimize for, the more back links you can create, and the more people you can reach.  The trouble is this only works if that content is actually any good, and of course, every article has to be unique.  So how can you produce the volumes of content you need without it getting repetitive and boring?

The Bad Ways to Generate Lots of Content

There are plenty of services out there that offer “free article spinning”.  This basically involves using software to scan through your article and replace words with synonyms, meaning you can theoretically get numerous new versions of your article that are unique, and, these services promise to be “human readable”.  They aren’t though.  The only reason anybody should ever use one of these automated spinning tools is to have a laugh at the results – it’s like Mad-Libs for the Web 2.0 age.

The only thing you could do that would create worse content than this, is to use the spinning tool on an article you paid a cheap, non-native English speaking content writer to produce for you, thus creating nonsense based on gibberish…  If you want to outsource your writing, get someone good to do it, not the cheapest person, and if you want those articles spun, use that same writer to do it for you manually.

Research to Find Fresh Topics

Rewriting (when done by a professional) can be a great way to get maximum outreach from one article idea, but you shouldn’t rely on it.  You need to have a good supply of article ideas, so even if you put out five rewrites of each one, you can still establish yourself as someone with something useful and valuable to say in your niche or industry.  This is especially important if you want repeat, rather than passing traffic.  Keep a list of ideas you want to write about (or pass to your copywriters), and regularly take the time to do some research to help you flesh out that future topics list.

A good way to do this is to search forums to see if you can find any questions people are asking about something relevant to your products or target keywords.  An article that addresses a question is usually a safe bet, so knowing what people out there are asking can give you some good ideas.  Additionally, look out for relevant news stories you can cover – timely, topical content is also usually a winner.

Vary Writers and Styles

Another way to ensure your content stays fresh is to use a completely different style, once in a while.  If you usually write informative, corporate content, why not write something funny and creative sometimes?  Or use a different format, like a “Top 5” or a review to mix things up.  You can also use different writers, either by hiring them or by inviting other bloggers to guest write for you.  This will automatically guarantee you get some different tones, personalities and ideas coming through in your content.

If you need some help with writing bulk content, a good idea would be to contact an SEO copywriting company to help you.  The writers at Apple Copywriting know how to write interesting content that is sure to put your blog or website a step above the rest.
